O presente artigo tem por objetivo problematizar a adoção do ensino remoto emergencial no contexto da Pandemia de Covid-19, com ênfase nos impactos sobre o trabalho docente. Parte-se da experiência construída no âmbito do Departamento Interdisciplinar da Universidade Federal Fluminense, Campus de Rio das Ostras (composto por professores dos cursos de Serviço Social e Enfermagem), em especial, do estudo exploratório acerca do perfil docente sistematizado no período inicial da pandemia, no intuito de subsidiar a construção de proposta de desenvolvimento de atividades de ensino, pesquisa e extensão no formato remoto, devido às condições sanitárias e de contenção à disseminação da Covid-19. Os dados apresentados, que se referem ao primeiro semestre de 2020, subsidiaram uma leitura ampla das condições de trabalho e de saúde levadas em consideração para o planejamento de atividades realizadas de forma remota. É possível identificar, a partir dos mesmos, que o contexto da pandemia – e do trabalho remoto – afetaram diretamente as relações de trabalho e vida das (os) professoras (es), desde a organização do trabalho docente e trabalho doméstico, como de suas relações interpessoais e aspectos relacionados à saúde mental. Por fim, considera-se que, apesar dos limites e das imposições advindas da própria Universidade, os estudos e levantamentos realizados no período, constituem-se forma de resistência e defesa da educação pública, gratuita, de qualidade, socialmente referenciada e universal.
