The IP Multimedia Subsystem is a control overlay network that enables the delivery of multimedia services to end subscribers. One of the core steps towards the optimization of an IMS deployment consists of verifying that the involved resources deliver the desired performance when the system is operating under stress conditions. With this goal in mind, this paper presents an IMS performance evaluation based on the IMS/NGN Performance Benchmark specification from ETSI, using wellknown open source software reference implementations and stateof-the-art analyzing tools for collecting the related measurements.
Due to the current needs of the mobile telecommunications market to deliver tailored experiences to its users, IMS operators must be able to manage the interoperability and cooperation between the deployed services, in order to provide a high level of customization to their subscribers.
With this goal in mind, this paper presents the Presence Application Router (Presence AR), based on the Default AR (DAR) concept introduced in the Java SIP Servlet API v1.1. The Presence AR allows runtime changes in the precedence relationships and application subscriptions that build the composition chains, based on the Presence information of the users involved in the session.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
