Este artículo presenta un análisis sobre los sistemas de saneamiento y estudios de caso relacionados con la gestión de biosólidos en Colombia. Con el desarrollo tanto rural como urbano, los servicios de acueducto y alcantarillado se han expandido y mejorado la cobertura, pero los servicios para el tratamiento de aguas residuales en las ciudades solo cubren del 20 al 25 % de toda la demanda. Las plantas funcionales permiten disminuir la carga contaminante de estas aguas evitando la contaminación de la red hídrica donde son vertidas. Durante este proceso se generan subproductos como gas y lodo. Este último, presenta características que lo hacen viable para reutilización, por lo cual se denomina biosólido y puede ser aprovechado siguiendo las normativas a nivel nacional e internacional. Teniendo en cuenta que la construcción de las primeras plantas de tratamiento primario y secundario se llevaron a cabo en Bogotá y Medellín respectivamente, son estas un ejemplo claro de la situación en cuanto a la gestión de biosólidos, donde se puede observar que este aún se encuentra en un estado de ensayo y error, es decir, en una etapa preliminar con respecto a otros países de Latinoamérica.
En este artículo se realiza un análisis del manejo de los biosólidos y su posible aplicación en los suelos en países como Colombia y Uruguay a partir de una revisión bibliográfica. El presente artículo presenta resultados de una revisión sobre el manejo y disposición final de lodos generados en las plantas de tratamiento de agua residual, los cuales deben ser sometidos a diferentes tratamientos para ser transformados en biosólidos y lograr determinar su uso sujeto a la clasificación que se presenta en Argentina, Chile y Colombia. Se realizó un análisis comparativo de los diferentes parámetros que se tienen en cuenta en los reglamentos de cada uno de estos países, evidenciando los cambios entre ellos. Fue posible identificar que Chile no presenta valores máximos de aplicación como los otros países, pero presenta un plan de aplicación. Respecto a Argentina y Colombia se percibe que varios de sus criterios presentan unos valores con una gran diferencia uno respecto al otro, además la normatividad argentina no tiene en cuenta los valores de Selenio en biosólidos, mientras que el reglamento colombiano maneja la normatividad US EPA.Producto Asociado al Proyecto de Investigación INV ING 2127 de la Vicerrectoría de Investigaciones de la UMNG
Ingresar a la comunidad de Pucahuaico es el encuentro con las voces silenciosas de adultos/as mayores. Es sobre esta población que el artículo propone algunas reflexiones sobre la violencia simbólica inmersa en la calidad de vida, en el abandono, soledad, pobreza, condición física y de salud, afectando el ejercicio de sus derechos y dignidad, evidenciados en la complejidad social, su interrelación con la comunidad, el acceso a servicios, vivienda, alimentos, lengua de origen y desempleo que permanece invisible y naturalizado en las prácticas diarias. En este sentido, el estudio realizado durante el período 2019- 2020, analiza estas condiciones en dos momentos; el primero a través de una encuesta sociocontextual de percepción sobre la violencia y el segundo a través de historias de vida en grupos focales de adultos/as mayores que reflejan que la percepción de la violencia simbólica permanece casi imperceptible en su calidad de vida. Así, el interés de socializar y visibilizar su realidad, para interpelar al Estado ecuatoriano sobre una política pública adecuada en temas de prevención, mecanismos de protección, promoción de los derechos humanos y garantías efectivas en favor del adulto/a mayor, que permitan recuperar sus voces, su memoria e identidad como parte del compromiso y de la corresponsabilidad social. Los resultados señalan la presencia de enfermedades crónicas propias de la vejez, abandono familiar, desánimo, depresión y soledad en la población de adultos mayores, así como la ausencia del estado en la atención de la salud. Hay evidencia de discriminación basada en su etnia y en la edad, así como explotación laboral por actividades de cuidado no remuneradas, discriminación que en su mayoría proviene de su propio entorno familiar y de su comunidad. Por otra parte, los resultados señalan reflejan un proceso de a culturización basado en la idea peyorativa de ser indígena, lo que se expresa en la presión social al interior de las familias para dejar atuendos, lenguaje e idiosincrasia proveniente de los pueblos originarios, por otro lado, una corriente de recuperación de la identidad cultural desde los colectivos presentes y el gobierno local.
Resumen: Este artículo tiene como objetivo estimar una función de producción de compost para 31 países de Europa usando la metodología de panel de datos. La motivación del documento se basó en el rezago que existe en la literatura económica, sobre temas relacionados con el tratamiento de residuos sólidos y su posible reintegración al mercado. Se encontró que la función de producción que mejor se ajusta es la translogarítmica. Al calcular las elasticidades de sustitución de Allen se halló que el capital, representado por el índice de instalación de nuevas plantas de tratamiento, es complementario con los demás factores de producción. Caso contrario ocurrió con el trabajo y los residuos municipales generados, siendo sustitutivos para el grupo de países analizados.
