La sinovitis vellonodular pigmentada (SVNP) de la rodilla es una enfermedad benigna pero localmente agresiva de proliferación sinovial que se presenta en patrones de crecimiento velloso nodular y difuso localizado. Sigue siendo de causa desconocida, pero hay hipótesis que sugieren causas inflamatorias y neoplásicas. El objetivo de este estudio es actualizar los referentes teóricos sobre la sinovitis vellonodular pigmentada (SVNP) de la rodilla. Se realizó una búsqueda sistemática de investigaciones recientes en bases de datos de Elsevier, Pubmed y Scopus de articulos publicados entre el 2016 al 2020, de idioma inglés y español. Se excluyeron ensayos clínicos, metaanálisis, reportes de casos y estudios de análisis de datos. La finalidad de esta revisión es proporcionar las herramientas y claves diagnósticas para la identificación oportuna de la patología.
