Among the methodologies found, the most used by teachers are still based on theoretical content exposition, followed by practical classes, most of the time and when possible with the use of human cadavers. Faced with a decline in the number of cadaver donations, alternative methods of teaching anatomy become increasingly useful, since the need for bodies for study is greater than availability. When access to corpses becomes difficult, many institutions use images (figures from books, atlases and works of art) to teach the morphology of the human body. Another widely explored option is the use of technologies (applications, social networks, digital desk, among others). The technological tools act as strategies to facilitate teaching, allowing a pedagogical practice modernized and more connected with the students. Other methodologies have been identified, all of which are proven to be effective in teaching Human Anatomy.Metodologias de ensino de anatomia humana: estratégias para diminuir as dificuldades e proporcionar um melhor processo de ensino-aprendizagem ___________________________________________________________________________
Purpose: To evaluate the cochlear function of parents of individuals with autosomal recessive gene Gap Junction Protein Beta-2 hearing loss by ultra-high frequencies distortion-product otoacoustic emissions (DPOAEs), compared with responses of a control group matched for age and gender. Methods: We studied 56 subjects aged from 20 to 58 years, divided into two groups. The study group comprised 28 parents of hearing-impaired patients due to autosomal recessive inheritance, 14 females aged 20.0-55.0 years (mean 32.8 years) and 14 males aged 20.0-58.0 years (mean 35.2 years). Control group was composed of normal hearing individuals, 14 males and 14 females age-matched to the study group. The subjects underwent tests for audiometry, tympanometry, and DPOAE in the frequency range of 9.000-16.000 Hz. Results: We found 64.3% of normal results of DPOAE in the study group compared to 91.1% in the control. There were significant differences between groups in the ears and DPOAE responses, and the mean level of response was in 10 dBNPS in study group and 14 dBNPS in the control. The Pearson's correlation between age and DPOAE in ultra-high frequencies showed no statistical significance. Conclusion: DPOAE at ultra-high frequencies were able to identify individuals from both groups, suggesting that heterozygous individuals for the Gap Junction Protein Beta-2 gene mutation may have damage to the cochlear function before clinical manifestation in audiometry.
SUMMARY: This paper described the architecture of the dog aortic arterial wall focused in the ascendant; thoracic descendent, and abdominal parts of the aorta. Furthermore, in this study we analyzed the wall structure of the right external iliac artery and the left vertebral artery of dog aiming to compare their architectural patterns with the aortic wall mainly in abdominal aortic part, which was structured by a mixed muscular and connective matrix equilibrated elements. The variables analyzed were the thickness of each mural layer; the number of elastic lamellae, mainly localized into the medial layer structure, and the diameters of each aortic segment. The aortic structure showed a typical elastic pattern in the ascendant and descendant thoracic parts, but in its abdominal segment a lesser presence of elastic lamellae permitted to classify it with a mixed mural composition. The aortic segments mainly presented variable amounts of smooth muscle cells and connective matrix assuming a meshwork pattern. Furthermore, smooth muscle cells were seen intermingled with connective lamellae and fibers forming the complex meshwork related, which certainly helped to guarantee the aortic mural integrity during the aortic blood flow.
