RESUMESitué dans la partie méridionale du Tchad, le Parc National de Manda fait partie du biome "savanes et forêts claires soudaniennes" figurant parmi les 200 écorégions essentielles au monde pour la conservation de la biodiversité globale. La connaissance de la biodiversité surtout végétale étant á la base des aménagements durables de l´environnement, l´objectif de cette étude est d´apprécier la composition floristique et la qualité des herbages dans les différentes unités géomorphologiques du Parc National de Manda (PNM) au Tchad en vue de fournir des éléments de gestion et d´amélioration adaptés aux conditions actuelles. L'état de la végétation herbacée du PNM a été établi à travers la détermination de la composition floristique, du recouvrement et de la richesse floristique dans 3 types d'unités géomorphologiques (plateaux, zones mixtes et bas-fonds). Les relevés effectués par la méthode des points quadrats alignés ont permis d'identifier 137 espèces reparties en 94 genres et 33 familles. Les cinq principales familles, Poaceae, Fabaceae, Malvaceae, Cyperaceae et Rubiaceae représentent 66,42% du cortège végétal dont 34,29% pour les graminoïdes : Poaceae (25,54%) et Cyperaceae (8,75%). Le nombre de taxons herbacés recensés a été de 100 respectivement dans les relevés des plateaux et dans les relevés des bas-fonds et de 85 dans ceux zones mixtes. 58 espèces sont communes aux 3 unités géomorphologiques. Le recouvrement herbacé est globalement élevé (99,73%) et varie peu entre les différentes unités géomorphologiques. L'indice de diversité de Shannon et l'indice de régularité de Piélou pour l'ensemble du parc sont respectivement de 5,25 bits et 0,74. Il y a donc une diversité floristique élevée et les individus se répartissent équitablement entre les différentes espèces.
La région de la réserve de biosphère de Luki connaît un changement dans les comportements alimentaires de sa population. La consommation des chenilles fait partie des nouvelles habitudes alimentaires de celle-ci. Cependant, la population fait état de la diminution, au fil des années, de la disponibilité des chenilles qu’elle consomme. Pourtant, aucune donnée n’existe à ce jour sur les chenilles comestibles dans la région. Notre étude s'est intéressée aux acteurs de la collecte et de la consommation des chenilles dans cette région, à leurs connaissances locales concernant cette ressource alimentaire ainsi qu’au contexte de gestion des chenilles dans lequel s'effectue leur cueillette. Les enquêtes structurées à l’aide d’un questionnaire auprès de 578 collecteurs préalablement recensés dans 22 villages et des observations directes sur terrain ont été réalisées de septembre 2020 à janvier 2021. Les résultats révèlent que la consommation de chenilles y est une activité récente et que les acteurs sont majoritairement des jeunes hommes ainsi que des hommes adultes relevant de tous les groupes ethnolinguistiques qui y vivent. Ils connaissent leurs chenilles alimentaires qu’ils désignent par un nom vernaculaire d’emprunt et les identifient à partir des traits morphologiques. Dix catégories locales de chenilles consommées ont été recensées et quatre ont été identifiées au niveau de l’espèce. Le cycle de vie des chenilles consommées est peu connu de la population. Les lieux de collecte sont les jachères, les forêts, les zones habitées et les savanes, où les chenilles se nourrissent sur 46 espèces de plantes hôtes appartenant à 20 familles botaniques. Leur collecte s’effectue dans un contexte de pressions anthropiques avec l’utilisation par la majorité des collecteurs de techniques destructrices. Cette étude a permis d’avoir un aperçu sur la dynamique locale concernant les chenilles comestibles pour leur prise en compte dans les mesures de gestion de la réserve de biosphère de Luki ainsi que dans les plans locaux de développement des villages situés dans sa périphérie.
