Electronic commerce is growing popular across the world because of the convenience it brings to online sellers and online customers. However, as the electronic commerce rises, problematic issues like privacy concerns, dissatisfaction, incompetent deliveries, and the most important – trust issues – also surface. Numerous previous studies indicated that the purchase intention and behavior of the online customers depend on their perceived risk and shopping experience in electronic commerce. Some studies also specifically stated that personal information, product quality, security, and business reputation are the usual factors which the customers evaluate to deem the online business as trustworthy. The researchers conduct this qualitative study concentrated on the perceived trustworthiness of e-commerce to know if it complements the results of other studies and to provide information to online users which can guide them in either selling or purchasing products online. Using purposive sampling and thematic data analysis, the researchers had eight in competence area, three in benevolence, and two in integrity as determining factors on the online business’ trustworthiness. The findings of the study claimed that online customers value the competence, benevolence, and integrity of the online business to be perceived as a trustworthy one.
This qualitative research through phenomenological approach in which it is made to gather important data and information based on the participant’s experiences of the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) Act. The interview collected data using in-depth interview where the questions were semi-structured for deeper clarification and further discussions. After the data was being collected, there were three themes formulated as the effects after the implementation of TRAIN law on poor income class families. According to the findings, the impact of TRAIN law to the poor are mostly the basic need such as food in which it is needed to reduce their budget for them to survive since there are other things that needed to be paid such like utility bills and debts. Furthermore, it also affects the mental and well-being of a person such as anxiety, stress, and depression due to financial problems. It is therefore concluded that after the implementation of TRAIN the poor income class families becomes poorer.
As the number of senior citizens increases, issues regarding their utilization of healthcare services are becoming highly relevant to discuss. This study aims to evaluate the potential determinants of healthcare utilization among senior citizens in Davao City, Philippines. Stratified sampling with proportional allocation was employed to select the 2,952 respondents. Data were collected using questionnaires. Of the total sample, 61.0% consumed cigarettes at most two times per week, 70.0% drank alcohol two to three times per week, and 78.3% performed an exercise at most one time per week. Approximately 59.0% reported experiencing two to three symptoms of a disease; however, 56.3% of the respondents utilized healthcare services at most four times for the past six months. Most of the respondents were unaware that they automatically receive PhilHealth coverage in accredited healthcare facilities in the Philippines. Multiple regression analysis revealed that age, sex, family size, monthly income, geographical area, lifestyle factors, and awareness of health insurance were significant determinants of healthcare utilization. The findings revealed the impact of socio-demographic, lifestyle, and health insurance awareness on healthcare utilization among senior citizens. Policymakers and local government units may consider improving the capability for senior citizens to access health services, such as providing health insurance awareness programs and developing health-promoting activities.
This study explores the different perspectives of UIC graduates regarding education-job mismatch and interpreted it to create a possible model of its perceived causes and impacts, according to the participants themselves. The participants were two (2) female and one (1) male graduate of Business Administration who is currently experiencing education-job mismatch. The researchers’ implied semi-structured interviews and thematic analysis to gather and interpret data. They were able to form 12 themes that are divided into 4 categories that successfully answered the research questions of this study. Results show that some of the perceived causes of education-job mismatch is weak economy and inadequate job opportunities, field of study, and theory and practice misalignment. Thus, the findings of this study suggest that education-job mismatch itself is caused by a weak economy which also causes a weak economy.
This study examined whether male students dominated classroom interaction in home economics lessons and whether other classroom processes sustained gender divisions in this subject in schools. The sample included 4 males home economics students in the two classes. Data were collected during five minute observation sessions in each class and semi-structured interviews with all the students. Results were examine using thematic content analysis. This method of data analysis as a process of analyzing data by systematize in into categories based on themes, concepts or similar features. The researchers have come to know that Gender Bias or Gender inequality refers to unfair rights between male and female based on different gender roles which leads to unequal treatment in life.
