YouTube is a company representative of its original context, Web 2.0, that originally positioned itself as an open and collaborative platform to broadcast videos created by all kinds of users; their slogan was, and remains, Broadcast yourself. The acquisition of YouTube by Google introduced it in the search for profit in the framework of OTT (over the top) communication. The YouTube homepage reveals the successive business policies followed by the platform. In this work we analyze the evolution of the unlogged homepage of YouTube Spain between 2009 and 2018. We observe the gradual disappearance of the videos produced by private users and its replacement by those made by professional users (youtubers) and cultural industries. There is a remarkable parallelism between the implementation of business models and the greater or lesser recommendation of video from one kind of user or another.
Multicamera television production’s similarity to the video clip has become evident in the production of the EBU’s Eurovision Song Contest, where various musical numbers representing public television stations from the organizing countries compete against each other in terms of spectacularity and originality. The main objective of this research is to analyze several acts to identify such appropriation. We will apply a textual analysis to the audiovisual discourse of a sample chosen through subjective sampling. We divide our analysis into four sections: preliminary phase, formal audiovisual analysis, staging and performance. The investigation leads to the conclusion that the characteristic fragmentation of space and time of video clips can also be identified in live music videos. This fragmentation is seen in the break in spatial continuity, resulting from recreating sets on stage and the abstraction of the stage thanks to screens and an avant-garde composition shot. We also consider that the production imitates the time fragmentation and fast shot speed of the video clip.
LaburpenaArtikulu honen helburua da gaur egungo bideo musikalen errealizazioan eta edizioan ohikoak diren praktikak aurkitzea. Nahiz eta formatuak aukera ugari proposatzen dituen, iruditzen zaigu hautu formalen errepikapenak kode bat finkatzera eraman dezakeela. Uste dugu plano jakin batzuk sarriago erabiltzen direla, eta haien iraupena hiru elementu hauek erabakitzen dutela: enkoadraketaren neurriak, kamera-mugimenduen bitartez egin daitezkeen enkoadraketa-aldaketek, eta irudikatutako ekintzaren iraupenaren eta filmatutako ekintzaren iraupenaren arteko erlazioak. Bideoklip batzuk lagintzat hartu, eta haien edukien azterketa egingo dugu. Gako-hitzak: Musika-bideoa, telebista-errealizazioa, muntaketa, postprodukzioa. AbstractThis paper aims to discover usual practices in the filming and the edition on the current music video. Even if the format proposes a large range of possibilities, we consider that the formal options repetition could lead to formulate a code. We think that some shoots will be more frequent and that their length will be defined by the frame size, the possible changing in the frames by the camera motion and the represented action length with regard to the filmed action length. We will apply a content analysis on a music video sample.
