RESUMOObjetivo: Aferir a probabilidade de ruína de uma operadora de plano de saúde no horizonte finito de dez anos. Fundamento: Tendo em vista que a legislação vigente exige que as operadoras de plano de saúde devam garantir, a todo o tempo, o cumprimento das responsabilidades financeiras assumidas, observa-se no setor um expressivo aumento do número de empresas que entraram em estado de insolvência. Métodos: Por meio da simulação de Monte Carlo, verificaram-se os impactos com as flutuações das seguintes variáveis aleatórias: geração e aumento dos custos assistenciais, geração e aumento das despesas administrativas e aumento da reserva de risco. Além disso, criaram-se cenários propondo dois reajustes dos prêmios, 10% e 13% a.a., a fim de verificar a sensibilidade nos resultados finais. Resultados: Os resultados, após simulações, exibem as probabilidades de insolvência calculadas ao longo dos anos, sendo a chance da operadora ir à bancarrota nos próximos dez anos de 99,28% e 49,68%, respectivamente.
