<p>El presente artículo estudia la relación existente entre la obra del orfebre Wentzel Jamnitzer (1508-1585), <em>Perspectiva corporium regularium</em>, 1568, y el cuarto libro de un manuscrito español de finales del siglo XVII, titulado <em>Artes Excelençias dela perspectiva a maestro P. Gómez de Alcuña. 1688, </em>texto anónimo de perspectiva, poco conocido aún en el panorama español e internacional. Posee la singularidad de ser el único tratado que estudia, desde un punto de vista gráfico, analítico y constructivo, la representación de los poliedros que vemos en la obra del orfebre vienés. Incidiremos aquí sobre aquellos aspectos fundamentales necesarios para entender la singular aportación del autor español, que nos muestran diferentes formas de entender la representación perspectiva, directamente relacionada con el uso de mecanismos gráficos e instrumentos mecánicos.</p><div> </div>
Se estudia aquí la posible influencia de algunas leyendas y escritos medievales en la decisión de realizar la proyección del mundo desde un único punto de vista, propia de la perspectiva cónica, existente en la leyenda del hada Melusina y su relación con la experiencia de Brunelleschi en sus conocidas tablas.
<p>La representación gráfica del espacio tetradimensional, entre el siglo xix y xx, merece un lugar destacado en la historia del pensamiento gráfico. Al igual que ocurrió en el desarrollo de la perspectiva renacentista, el estudio de los poliedros –y politopos– por unos pocos “matemáticos de la representación” fue unido a la codificación de novedosas formas de representar. La voluntad de definir nuevas formas de ver y representar la cuarta dimensión trascendió a todas las esferas de las manifestaciones estéticas. Aportaremos relevantes testimonios sobre la evolución de estos primeros sistemas gráficos tetradimensionales. Una última contribución se recoge en la Tesis de Alfredo Llorens Herrero 1, que supone la ampliación del Sistema Diédrico en una dimensión extra. </p>
