Las instituciones de educación superior deben favorecer la implementación de la Agenda 2030 para el Desarrollo Sostenible aprobada en las Naciones Unidas, y una forma de promoverlo es proporcionar a los estudiantes una conciencia de Sostenibilidad basada en competencias para que puedan resolver los numerosos desafíos que encontrarán en sus campos profesionales. En este trabajo se presentan los principales resultados del primero y cuarto objetivo propuesto en el Proyecto EDINSOT, cuyo fin principal es la formación de egresados en competencias en Sostenibilidad en el Sistema Universitario Español. Se proporciona una revisión de las competencias genéricas en Sostenibilidad en los títulos de educación de nueve universidades españolas y un mapa de competencias que permite evaluar los estudios universitarios y sus títulos, así como un análisis de la percepción del alumnado respecto a su nivel de formación adquirido a lo largo de la carrera en cuestiones de sostenibilidad en los Grados de Pedagogía y Educación Social de la Universidad de Salamanca. Nos centraremos en las aportaciones más relevantes sobre su visión y valoración de la sostenibilidad, su experiencia formativa en la universidad, así como sus propuestas sobre cómo podría mejorarse, tanto desde el punto de vista metodológico como de organización curricular.
Presentamos un proyecto educativo centrado en la conformación de una Red de huertos escolares ecológicos comunitarios, cuya finalidad es mostrar cómo tales huertos no sólo constituyen recursos educativos, sino que pueden convertirse en elementos vertebradores de cambio e innovación en la cultura escolar, permitiendo educar de un modo más integral y significativo, a la vez que capacitar a los educandos en las competencias transversales demandadas por la educación para el desarrollo sostenible. Para llevarlo a cabo se aplica una metodología de investigación-acción participativa (IAP), basada en el diálogo y la negociación como vías para que los participantes reflexionen y den solución conjunta a las diferentes necesidades y problemas que el proyecto va planteando. Los profesores universitarios, directores del proyecto, aplican con sus alumnos universitarios una metodología de Aprendizaje Servicio, poniendo en marcha, en colaboración con las diferentes instituciones participantes, un proyecto piloto inicial y una posterior red de huertos escolares comunitarios, siguiendo las directrices para la introducción de la sostenibilidad en el curriculum (CADEP-CRUE, 2005). La conclusión fundamental es que los huertos escolares, así concebidos, al integrar a la Comunidad, pueden llegar a constituir espacios socioeducativos transversales de gran valor educativo y social, dado que no sólo sirven para mejorar la intervención educativa, sino también para promover una cultura social comprometida con la sostenibilidad.
Presentamos el resultado de una investigación cuyo objetivo ha sido analizar la distribución, usos y valores que sostienen el tiempo libre de los estudiantes de Educación Secundaria Obligatoria (ESO) de Salamanca. El instrumento de recogida de datos ha sido la encuesta; el muestreo aleatorio simple de unidades por conglomerados, dispuesto por centros escolares y estratos, según localización geográfica (rural, urbana) y pertenencia al sector público o privado. El análisis se efectuó a partir de tres variables: el nivel de estudios (1º, 2º, 3º y 4º ESO), el género, y la ubicación geográfica, si bien el trabajo se centra en la primera de ellas. Los resultados muestran escasez de valores educativos en su tiempo libre y diferencias significativas a tener en cuenta en función del nivel educativo. El tiempo libre es un tiempo crucial en la vida de los adolescentes y presenta procesos análogos a los experimentados en el tiempo escolar.
RESUMEN: Este trabajo presenta algunas de las formas a través de las cuales podemos entender los espacios no sólo como los lugares o sitios en que se desarrolla el proceso, la acción educativa, sino también como uno de los elementos básicos del proceso, capaz de proporcionar un lenguaje, distinto del tradicional, que nos permite descifrar e interpretar algunos hechos vitales de la especie humana. El autor reconstruye uno de los soportes necesarios para pensar y hacer educación en los tiempos actuales, mostrando el significado y la comunicación más allá de la tradición individual, en base al significado social y competencia comunicacional de los espacios.ABSTRACT: This study presents certain ways to understand the spaces, not only as the contexts or places where the process takes place -educational action- but also as one of the basic elements of the process, able to provide a language -different from traditional one- which help us to decipher and interpret of the vital facts of the human being. The author re-create one of the supports needed for thinking and making education nowadays, showing the meaning and the communication beyond the individual tradition, on the basis of the social meaning and communicational competence of the spaces.SOMMAIRE: Ce travail présente certains formes à travers lesquelles nous pouvons comprendre les espaces, pas seulement comme les contextes ou endroits où le processus à lieu, l'action éducative, mais aussi comme un des éléments basiques du processus, capable de fournir un langage, différent de l'habituel, qui nous permet de décoder et interpréter quelques faits vitales de l'espèce humain. L'auteur reconstruit un des supports nécessaires pour penser et faire l'éducation actuellement, en montrant la signification et la communication plus loin de la tradition individuelle, sur base de la signification social et compétence communicationnelle des espaces.
