Objetivos: Determinar los factores maternos y paternos que condicionan el peso al nacer en neonatos a término a 3 400 m de altura y establecer un perfil socioeconómico. Diseño: Estudio descriptivo prospectivo. Institución: Hospital Nacional Adolfo Guevara Velazco, EsSalud, Cusco. Participantes: Mujeres con gestaciones únicas, normales y a término. Intervenciones: A 200 mujeres con gestaciones únicas, normales y a término se determinó los factores maternos y paternos que pudieran condicionar el peso al nacer. Principales medidas de resultados: Factores condicionantes. Resultados: Después de redefinir los parámetros de cada variable, se pudo observar significación estadística de las siguientes variables: a) del padre: edad, grado de instrucción, ocupación, altura de nacimiento, permanencia en la altura; b) de la madre: edad, grado de instrucción, ocupación, altura de nacimiento, permanencia en la altura, suplemento de hierro, ingreso económico familiar, gestaciones previas, antecedente de hijos vivos, talla y peso placentario. Conclusiones: La suma de las 28 variables maternas y paternas definidas a través del perfil que planteamos fue directamente proporcional con el peso al nacer, a 3 400 m sobre el nivel del mar.
Se describe las características de un caso de embarazo heterotópico confirmado por laparotomía y se revisa la literatura. Se trató de una mujer de 31 años, que ingresó al hospital por dolor abdominal y choque. La ecografía pélvica mostró útero ocupado por gestación activa de siete semanas, además de una tumoración anexial derecha en cuyo interior se apreciaba imagen ovalada ecolúcida. La anatomía patológica demostró embarazo tubárico.
