INTRODUÇÃONo Brasil, o mês de agosto foi escolhido pela Igreja Católica para ser celebrado o Mês das vocações. A data foi instituída pela 19ª Assembleia Geral da Conferência Nacional dos Bispos do Brasil (CNBB), em 1981. De acordo com o Catecismo da Igreja Católica (1699), são três as vocações do homem: sacerdotal, matrimonial ou laical e religiosa. Mas, e o dom? Dom e vocação possuem o mesmo sentido, significam a mesma coisa? A palavra "dom" é proveniente do latim e significa "donu", que remete a algo como dádiva ou presente. Ou seja, dom é a habilidade que algumas pessoas têm para desenvolver e executar habilidades específicas de maneira simples e natural como pintar, inventar (Leonardo da Vinci possuía vários dons, inclusive, o de nos surpreender!); ou responder questões matemáticas em tempo recorde; ou mesmo a arte de jogar futebol, basta que lembramos de Messi.Já vocação é um chamado sobrenatural que nasce no coração de Deus e se manifesta no coração de cada homem, de maneira particular. São infinitos os caminhos para os quais Deus convoca cada um. Logo, são diferentes tipos de vocação.Pode ser na área da saúde, da educação, na área religiosa.
