En un artículo anterior hemos recorrido las vicisitudes que experimentó este códice desde 1505 –año en que aparece en la documentación simanquina de la testamentaría de la reina– hasta nuestros días, que lo encontramos bien conservado en el Archivo Capitular de la Catedral de Córdoba. Con este trabajo completamos el itinerario, ahora de forma retrospectiva, desde la almoneda de los bienes de Isabel I hasta mediados del siglo X, fecha en que fue creado por su autor, Florencio de Valeránica.
Resumen: Martín Fernández de Angulo -el doctor Angulo-, fue uno de los más íntimos colaboradores de los Reyes Católicos, que protagonizó un vertiginoso encumbramiento político y eclesiástico. Nos proponemos con el presente trabajo ofrecer una semblanza de sus primeros años, desde sus orígenes en Córdoba hasta su entrada en el círculo cortesano, analizando los elementos que le facilitaron la promoción.Abstract: Martín Fernández de Angulo -doctor Angulo-was one of the more intimate collaborators of the Catholic Monarchs, who starred in a quick political and ecclesiastical rise. The purpose of this work is to offer information about this cordovan, from his birth until his entrance into the court circles, analyzing the key elements that allowed the promotion.
El letrado Martín Fernández de Angulo, consejero de los Reyes Católicos y presidente de la Real Audiencia y Chancillería de Valladolid, compiló en esta ciudad a principios del siglo XVIuna colección de documentos propios y ajenos de literatura funcionarial (BNE mss/19365) que entregó al editor vallisoletano Cristóbal de Santisteban para que formara parte de una publicación que contendría una antología de textos antiguos y modernos que sirviera para el ejercicio de la oratoria en el ámbito político. Este manuscrito –que finalmente nunca llegó a pasar por la imprenta– confirma la cultura humanística del doctor Angulo, elogiada por Lucio Marineo Sículo y Lucio Flaminio Sículo.
