El presente trabajo se ocupa de los diferenciales en las condiciones de vida a partir del análisis de la estructura de clases sociales en el Gran Buenos Aires (gba) en el periodo 2003-2013. Específicamente se estudia la relación existente entre la posición que ocupan los hogares en la estructura de clases, la percepción de ingresos (desagregado por fuente laboral o no laboral), la calidad de los empleos en los que se insertan los miembros de cada clase y la situación habitacional.Para el desarrollo de la investigación, se utilizaron como fuente de información las bases de microdatos de la Encuesta Permanente de Hogares (eph) del Instituto Nacional de Estadísticas y Censos (indec). El esquema de clases sociales utilizado se construye a partir del Nomenclador de la Condición Sociocupacional de Susana Torrado (1992, 1998). El objetivo general de este artículo es indagar sobre los cambios y/o continuidades en las condiciones de bienestar, durante gran parte del periodo kirchnerista (2003-2013), al interior de la estructura de clases. De este modo, se aportan insumos para pensar la desigualdad social y, a más largo plazo, elementos para repensar los efectos que el modelo socioeconómico, centrado en el empleo, tuvo sobre la estructura de clases, particularmente en su composición.Los principales resultados indican que en el periodo analizado se evidencia una mayor participación de la clase trabajadora en la estructura de clases, de la mano de una recomposición de sus ingresos monetarios. El efecto de lo anterior es la baja en los niveles de subocupación y el aumento del trabajo registrado. Finalmente, en relación con los indicadores de hábitat, hacia el final del periodo la distribución continúa siendo marcadamente desigual por estructura de clases, siendo los estratos más bajos los más desventajados, aunque se evidencia una mejora en términos de conexión a servicios básicos para los trabajadores marginales y obreros calificados.
En este artículo ponemos en relación dos campos de estudio de las ciencias sociales: el de la movilidad social y el del mercado de trabajo. Complementamos el análisis de la relación origen/destino de clase con el de las condiciones de inserción en el mercado de trabajo, desde un enfoque metodológico cuantitativo. A su vez, cuestionamos la mirada funcionalista de la movilidad social que asimila movilidad con igualdad y reproducción con desigualdad, especificando la forma que asumen las trayectorias de movilidad. Para el caso argentino, en los años 2007-2008, se ha observado que una parte importante de la población ha mejorado su posición en relación al mercado de trabajo, aunque en términos de clase reproduzca su posición de origen.
<p>¿Cómo se compone la estructura social porteña? ¿Cuán desiguales son las clases sociales en términos del acceso al bienestar? ¿Qué factores impulsan la movilidad social entre padres e hijos? ¿En qué medida las condiciones de partida “dejan su huella” en la vida de los individuos?</p><p>El libro intenta responder a dichos interrogantes poniendo en diálogo a las tradiciones de estudios de movilidad social y de análisis de clases, a los fines de comprender el modo en que los orígenes sociales pueden dar cuenta de las desigualdades en las condiciones de vida. Puntualmente se estudia el vínculo existente entre las diferenciales trayectorias intergeneracionales de clase y el acceso desigual a diversos activos y recursos que son constitutivos del bienestar material de los hogares: el nivel de ingresos monetarios, el acceso a la propiedad de la vivienda y el nivel de consumo de los hogares.</p><p>Partiendo desde un enfoque cuantitativo, se utilizan una serie de fuentes de datos primarias y secundarias. Espacialmente el análisis se vuelca sobre la Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires (CABA), cuyas características y dinámicas propias, que la diferencian del resto del área metropolitana, la configuran como una ciudad de clases medias. El recorte temporal abarca el período 2004-2015, representativo de lo que se ha denominado “modelo neodesarrollista”.</p>
