La terapia cognitivo conductual surge del modelo teórico del aprendizaje y aunque su campo de aplicación es amplio, su utilidad en el tratamiento de trastornos psicológicos derivados de la perturbación emocional por celos ha demostrado ser efectiva. Objetivo: Investigar acerca de la efectividad de la TCC en el tratamiento de la celotipia en privados de libertad por maltrato intrafamiliar. Método: Revisión bibliográfica sistemática y analítica. Resultados: Se analizó las características generales de este trastorno, así como los factores desencadenantes del problema y su vinculación con el comportamiento relacionado a la celopatía y maltrato intrafamiliar. La información obtenida, demuestra la complejidad del abordaje de la celotipia, así como la dificultad en cuanto a su identificación. Es importante tener en cuenta que las propuestas de tratamiento citadas abordan casos específicos, de manera que son particulares y aportan a una parte de la comprensión de la problemática, no quedando descartado el tratamiento farmacológico. Conclusiones: De forma particular se puede decir que, la aplicación de la Terapia cognitivo conductual en personas privadas de la libertad por celopatía y maltrato intrafamiliar parece facilitar la mejora en los síntomas de celopatía, medidos por los resultados obtenidos a partir de varias investigaciones a nivel clínico psicológico, pues éste es trastorno que tradicionalmente se ha visto como difícil de tratar y el cambio suscitado en los pacientes se atribuye a la terapia.
