<strong><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: ";Times New Roman";,";serif";; mso-fareast-font-family: ";Times New Roman";; mso-ansi-language: PT-BR; mso-fareast-language: ZH-CN; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA;">Objetivo:</span></strong><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: ";Times New Roman";,";serif";; mso-fareast-font-family: ";Times New Roman";; mso-ansi-language: PT-BR; mso-fareast-language: ZH-CN; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA;"> Descrever a frequência dos sintomas otoneurológicos e alterações auditivas na população ambulatorial de indivíduos com Esclerose Sistêmica (ES), bem como a relação destes com o tempo da doença. <strong>Metodologia: </strong>Trata-se de uma série de casos de indivíduos com diagnóstico de ES, acompanhados no Serviço de Reumatologia do Complexo Hospitalar Universitário Prof. Edgar Santos, da Universidade Federal da Bahia. Coletaram-se os dados sociodemográficos, de estilo de vida e sintomas otoneurológicos por meio de entrevista, seguida de avaliação audiológica básica. <strong>Resultado: </strong>Dos 40 indivíduos acompanhados no serviço, 27 participaram do estudo, sendo a maioria do sexo feminino. A idade mínima dos casos foi de 21 anos e a máxima, 67 anos. V</span><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: ";Times New Roman";,";serif";; mso-fareast-font-family: Calibri; mso-ansi-language: PT-BR; mso-fareast-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA;">erificou-se que 26 indivíduos apresentavam pelo menos uma queixa otoneurológica, sendo mais frequente o relato de tontura. Dos 27 indivíduos, 15 apresentaram perda auditiva de grau e configuração variáveis, sendo a maioria do tipo sensorioneural, com maior comprometimento das frequências agudas. O tempo médio da doença foi de 11,3 anos e um maior tempo não explica a presença, tipo e frequência de queixas otoneurológicas e da perda auditiva nesses indivíduos. </span><strong><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: ";Times New Roman";,";serif";; mso-fareast-font-family: ";Times New Roman";; mso-ansi-language: PT-BR; mso-fareast-language: ZH-CN; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA;">Conclusão: </span></strong><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: ";Times New Roman";,";serif";; mso-fareast-font-family: ";Times New Roman";; mso-ansi-language: PT-BR; mso-fareast-language: ZH-CN; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA;">O presente estudo revela elevada prevalência de<strong> </strong></span><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: ";Times New Roman";,";serif";; mso-fareast-font-family: Calibri; mso-ansi-language: PT-BR; mso-fareast-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA;">queixas otoneurológicas e alterações auditivas </span><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;">em indivíduos com ES e aponta para a necessidade de inclusão de testes auditivos na avaliação de rotina desses pacientes. Desta forma, a identificação precoce de perdas auditivas e adequada reabilitação da audição e da comunicação contribuirão para uma melhoria da qualidade de vida de indivíduos acometidos por ES.</span>
