Em seu livro A espiral das ocupações de terra, Nashieli Rangel Loera mostra os significados e motivos de pessoas que – embora coordenadas pela disciplina e pelos valores de uma organização social, no caso o Movimento dos Sem-Terra (MST) – ocupam terras para realizar sonhos e ter perspectivas de “ganhar a terra, manobrar ela”, “ter um pedacinho de terra e liberdade”. Para os agentes sociais envolvidos, a realização de sonhos e a conquista de ideais ocorrem a partir de lutas coletivas e individuais, semelhantes e singulares amalgamadas na construção e reprodução de espaços diferenciados, porém com um formato semelhante, a forma acampamento.
O livro é organizado em duas partes. A primeira delas é resultado de trabalhos independentes dos dois autores, mas que se assentam sobre fontes, objeto e metodologia comuns de pesquisa. A segunda é escrita por Sidnei Marco Dornelas. Trata-se de sua dissertação de Mestrado em Teologia Pastoral. Nesse artigo, procura-se debater as estratégias de reprodução social do agricultor familiar sob os impactos da modernização tecnológica na base da produção agrícola. Como estudo de caso, tomou-se o Município de Araraquara-SP, onde a monocultura é hegemônica, mas persistem produtores familiares.
O presente artigo pretende sumarizar algumas questões práticas, teóricas e metodológicas que expressam o caráter de processo social multidimensional da migração. Tais questões dizem respeito ao vínculo entre migração, colonização e trabalho; os arranjos políticos e econômicos entre países e migrantes que forjam novas rotas e fluxos migratórios, deslocando o tradicional eixo da migração Sul – Norte para novas perspectivas migratórias como a Sul – Sul; a capacidade de respostas dos migrantes e suas associações frente a negação de direitos e a precariedade de serviços públicos que poderiam viabilizar o seu acolhimento e dignidade. Sem a pretensão de esgotar as questões sumarizadas, o texto aponta para a possibilidade, duplamente utópica e concreta, dos migrantes e suas organizações como portadores de intercâmbios socioculturais e democráticos.
