Nesse trabalho é apresentado o desenvolvimento de um sistema de baixo custo para medidas de intervalo de tempo, baseado em um microcontrolador PIC. Este periodímetro permite aplicações em variados experimentos de física, substituindo os cronômetros de acionamento manual, por exemplo, que introduzem desvios nas medidas devido ao tempo de reação humana. Selecionou-se a medida do período de oscilação de um pêndulo como exemplo de aplicação. Obteve-se uma boa concordância dos dados experimentais com o modelo teórico de cálculo do período em função do comprimento do pêndulo. Além disso, atingiu-se o objetivo principal, que é o de apresentar uma proposta básica e flexível que - por meio da troca do sensor Hall utilizado por um de outro tipo, bem como da alteração da linguagem de programação empregada - permite variadas adaptações em aulas de física que podem atender ao ensino médio, à graduação ou à iniciação científica.
Resumo Este artigo tem por objetivo fazer a análise de um manuscrito elaborado pelo bispo Azeredo Coutinho – fundador, em 1800, do Seminário de Olinda, em Pernambuco –, no qual se preocupa com os princípios físicos necessários para dar direção a um balão. Esse manuscrito, ofertado ao príncipe D. Pedro, foi posteriormente publicado em 1819. O problema da dirigibilidade de balões só foi efetivamente resolvido em 1901, com o voo de Santos Dumont em seu dirigível N.° 6, que lhe valeu o Prêmio Deutsch. Desde a exibição da subida aos ares de um balão de ar quente na corte de D. João V, realizada pelo padre Bartolomeu de Gusmão, em 1709, a dirigibilidade de aeróstatos – aeronaves mais leves que o ar – parecia um problema insolúvel. Para subsidiar essa análise, buscando contribuir com a história da física no Brasil, o texto explora o desenvolvimento histórico de alguns conceitos físicos que contribuíram para a aerostação, em um contexto de emergência da ciência moderna em detrimento da física aristotélica. A conclusão revela pressupostos das novas ciências naturais, compatíveis com a física de Newton, presentes no pensamento do bispo.
O objetivo deste trabalho é documentar o desenvolvimento de um aplicativo didático para o Google Android – sistema operacional para dispositivos móveis –, capaz de resolver expressões lógicas de até cinco variáveis, mostrando soluções obtidas por meio de mapas de Karnaugh. O mapa de Karnaugh é um método tradicional de simplificação de expressões booleanas que permite, a partir de uma visualização gráfica, encontrar variáveis comuns entre termos, minimizando-os. Apesar de simples, aprender competentemente a técnica operatória do mapa requer treino e exemplos com diversas combinações das variáveis de entrada, o que é propiciado nesse aplicativo. A pesquisa realizada a partir das avaliações obtidas no Google Play revelou que existe interesse de alunos e professores na utilização do aplicativo como suporte didático em aulas de ciência da computação, eletrônica e outras áreas afins, tanto em nível médio técnico como em nível superior. A partir das sugestões coletadas na pesquisa, almejam-se, num trabalho próximo, adaptações do algoritmo utilizado, tornando-o mais versátil, de forma que ele possa ser aplicado a disciplinas mais instrumentais, como Álgebra I. Além disso, o próprio desenvolvimento do algoritmo aqui apresentado representa um ótimo exercício para o ensino de lógica de programação, além da própria lógica booleana.
