ResumoO objetivo deste artigo é analisar o processo de profissionalização dos artistas plásticos em Pernambuco, na segunda metade do século XX, em um perío-do que enfeixa os debates políticos sobre o papel social do artista plástico na sociedade brasileira, gerando disputas simbólicas no campo artístico. Para tanto, irei problematizar parte da trajetória profissional do escultor pernambucano Abelardo Germano da Hora, a partir de suas memórias profissionais e políticas entre os anos de 1940 e 1970. Instrumento que traz, em suas narrativas, negociações políticas e estéticas, que ajudam a compor as diversas tramas e práticas profissionais desta categoria de intelectuais.Palavras-chave: arte, memória, profissionalização.
AbstractThe objective of this paper is to analyze the process of professionalization of artists in Pernambuco, in the second half of the twentieth century. In a period fits political debates about the social role of the artist in Brazilian society, generating symbolic disputes in the artistic field. To do so, I will discuss part of the professional trajectory of Pernambuco sculptor Abelardo Germano da Hora, from their memories professionals and policy between the years 1940-1970. Instrument that brings in their narratives, political and aesthetic negotiations that help make up the various plots and professional practices of this category of intellectuals.
