Ze werden opgenomen in een programma van acht weken, gericht op functioneel herstel en gedragsondersteuning. De eerste onderzoeken bestonden uit een medisch onderzoek, indeling van de lichamelijke aandoening, een persoonlijk interview, een visuele analoge schaal om de pijnintensiteit vast te leggen, een bepaling van de beperkingen in de dagelijkse activiteiten, een pijnhandicap-index, een depressie-en psychovegetatieve schaal en een schaal om de algemene levensstandaard te meten. Het lichamelijk onderzoek omvatte verschillende metingen van de lenigheid, meting van kracht en uithoudingsvermogen door middel van gestandaardiseerde oefeningen, en meting van de isokinetische romp-en tilkracht en algemeen uithoudingsvermogen. De metingen werden herhaald aan het eind van het acht weken durende programma en daarna met tussenpozen van een half jaar en een jaar. De laatste analyses werden bij 82 patie¨nten uitgevoerd.

Samenvatting van achtergrondgegevensIn de laatste jaren hebben verschillende onderzoeken aangetoond dat actieve en intensieve multidisciplinaire behandeling van lage-rugpijn succes heeft. Tot nu toe ontbreken gegevens over welke patie¨nten op de behandeling reageren en wat het meest effectieve onderdeel van de behandeling is.
MethodenOnderzocht werd door bestudering van de variantie-en regressieanalyses of prognostische factoren (hervatting van het werk, pijnintensiteit, de eigen beoordeling van het succes van de behandeling door patie¨nten) de behandelresultaten kunnen voorspellen.
ResultatenEr werden bepaalde factoren gevonden die een belangrijke rol speelden in de bepaling van de waarschijnlijkheid dat een patie¨nt weer aan het werk zou gaan en de vermindering van pijnintensiteit. Tot deze factoren behoorden de eigen beoordeling van de kans op werkhervatting, de duur van de periode van niet-werken, aanvraag voor een uitkering en een vermindering in invaliditeit na de behandeling. De totale tevredenheid over de behandeling was het beste te bepalen uit het aantal medische consulten voor behandeling, de omvang van de invaliditeit, eerdere maatregelen, genomen om J.
