IntroducciónUno de los problemas en la valoración de la operatividad eléctrica de los electrodos revestidos, proviene del hecho de que la corriente de soldadura dependa de la longitud de arco, entre otros factores. Cuando se establece un arco con un electrodo revestido determinado, es necesario alimentarlo a medida que se consume, tratando de mantener constante la longitud de arco.Si bien lograr esto es dificultoso por parte del operario en la soldadura manual, esta premisa de la soldadura resulta también difícil de lograr automáticamente, ya que la longitud de arco es muestreada indirectamente a partir del voltaje o la corriente de soldadura, y los lazos y dispositivos de control poseen una cierta inercia [1].Ante la necesidad de implementar un sistema para la evaluación de la operatividad eléctrica específica del electrodo revestido, ha sido preciso desarrollar un estudio sobre el comportamiento de los parámetros eléctricos del arco durante la soldadura SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding). El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo la evaluación del comportamiento del tiempo de duración, la frecuencia de los cortocircuitos y la conductividad durante el reencendido del arco en el proceso de soldadura SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), con corriente alterna y electrodos E6013. El análisis estadístico no-paramétrico garantiza un procesamiento robusto de los datos, atenuando la influencia de valores atípicos y errores derivados del empleo de aproximaciones a distribuciones continuas conocidas. La mediana y la mediana de la desviación absoluta (MAD), respecto a la mediana de los datos, constituyen los estimadores de localización y dispersión utilizados, respectivamente. El electrodo, en el régimen de 160 A, presenta una mayor estabilidad, en el aporte metálico, dada por el menor valor del MAD promedio del período de cortocircuito (39,36 ms) y de la duración del cortocircuito (1,43 ms), reafirmada con la presencia de una mayor conductividad eléctrica durante el reencendido (1766,17x10-3 S·s-1).

IntroducciónLa estabilidad general en procesos de soldadura por arco eléctrico constituye un indicador importante para el control de la calidad del proceso, cuyo monitoreo en tiempo real puede realizarse mediante el empleo de técnicas de digitalización, registro, procesamiento digital y estadístico de las señales de voltaje y corriente del arco de soldadura; especialmente en lo referido al índice de transferencia de carga eléctrica [1].La compleja fenomenología del arco eléctrico de soldadura se inicia cuando la atmósfera gaseosa protectora generada y excitada por el intenso gradiente energético producido principalmente por efecto Joule, en el momento final del cortocircuito del electrodo con la pieza a soldar, alcanza la temperatura suficiente para que se sostenga el proceso de ionización de las especies químicas de más bajo potencial de ionización, contenidas en el espacio inter electródico. La reacción en cadena debe propiciar un incremento progresivo de la temperatura y por tanto del grado de ionización de las sustancias, estableciendo un plasma térmico que alcanza temperaturas superiores a los 6000 K y que puede alcanzar cerca de los 12 000 K en determinados procesos y aplicaciones; constituyendo la fuente de suministro de energía para la fusión de los metales a soldar [2,3].
