Este trabajo propone una metodología para simular el moldeo por inyección. La metodología permite un análisis de interacción fluido-estructural (FSI, por sus siglas en inglés) para el molde y un análisis de cambio de estado para la pieza. La simulación se desarrolló en ANSYS Workbench® 14.5. Se realizó una simulación de inyección en los módulos CFX® y Fluent® para realizar una comparación. La presión y temperatura resultantes se exportaron al módulo Mechanical® para un análisis termo-estructural del molde y un análisis de cambio de estado para la pieza. La metodología propuesta fue validada experimentalmente, resultando un error del 2% para la presión de inyección y del 6% para la temperatura de la pieza eyectada. La metodología permite calcular parámetros importantes como la presión y la temperatura de inyección. Los resultados del análisis estructural incluyen esfuerzos y deformaciones en el molde, así como la fuerza de cierre necesaria; estos resultados ayudan a un mejor diseño de moldes.
