This study seeks to understand how a group of Physical Education teachers acquired their training to teach competence, and the valuation of its modes of acquisition. The sample was constituted of six secondary school teachers, men and women, from beginners to expert, who exercised teaching in high schools in the north, south, east and center of the Community of Madrid. Techniques as semistructured interviews and focus group were triangulated. The information collected was analyzed following proper procedures inductive model of "Grounded Theory". The results indicate that the initial training is postulated as the type of training that most favors the application of teaching competencies, especially among beginners teachers. Also, experts participants consider their initial training is an advantage to develop the model. However, participants report making few training activities on the competency model in Physical Education and not appear to be directed toward principles. These results suggest the possibility of developing the training (initial or continuing) teacher on the competency
THE ASSESSMENT BASED ON COMPETENCIES IN PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND THE PROCESS OF BUILDING A RUBRICABSTRACT: Since its incorporation into the law of the Spanish educational system, competencies have become a curricular reference, considering the elements that underpin the assessment and promotion (Organic Law 8/2013, of December 9, to improve educational quality). The fact of including competencies in the curriculum requires changes in teacher performance,
FROM BASIC COMPETENCIES TO KEY COMPETENCIES: CONCEPTUALIZATION FROM PHYSICAL EDUCATION AbstractKey competencies have rethought the way we approach teaching and learning outcomes, which should be selected to achieve them and be oriented functional and practical way. In this context, the model based on competencies has required different approaches in Physical Education; the teacher must understand the competencies and develop them in his usual performance. However, research findings have demonstrated that this curricular element seems unknown in schools and dominates the lack of training. Consequently, this paper aims to be an educational tool for teaching Physical Education. To this objective, it is conceptualized on key competences in the subject and the role played by physical education for development through normative and expert analysis.
