The sample was then analysed using SPSS to calculate statistics on the production of papers and Pajek to identify social networks and analyse the position researchers held in these. Average Journal Impact Factor Percentile (AJIFP) of the Journal Citation Reports was used to analyse the prestige of the journals in which the INUB researchers published. Of the 1,916 papers selected in WoSCC, 53.65% (n=1.028) were published in journals positioned between the 75th and 100th percentiles, and 79.33% (n=1.520) appeared in journals positioned between the 50th and 100th percentiles. The average number of co-authored papers per year was 319. The collaboration index ranged between 7.41 and 9.92 authors per paper and was influenced by the dispersion observed in the number of researchers who authored the different papers selected. When examining the social networks, the study only considered those researchers who had authored a minimum of five papers, analysing a total of 37 networks whose composition ranged between 3 and 36 nodes. The findings reflect a substantial degree of scientific collaboration between INUB researchers and researchers from other institutes and units associated with the Universitat de Barcelona and other organizations at both national and international levels. The social networks which the INUB researchers formed part of were mainly characterized by their scalefree and small-world properties.
