Ensino dE Química Em Foco A seção "Ensino de Química em Foco" inclui investigações sobre problemas no ensino de Química, com explicitação dos fundamentos teóricos, procedimentos metodológicos e discussão dos resultados.
Considerando que a abordagem de questões sociocientíficas no ensino possibilita a mobilização de diversos conteúdos como contribuições para a resolução de problemas complexos, ressaltamos a importância da inserção explícita de conteúdos da dimensão atitudinal, relativos à ética e à moral, por meio dessa abordagem. Isso se justifica pela atenção que precisa ser dada às ações e às considerações de valor dos seres humanos em seus posicionamentos sobre essas questões. Nesse sentido, abordamos uma questão socioambiental controversa, relacionada ao consumo de animais, e fornecemos subsídios para o desenvolvimento do pensamento crítico dos estudantes frente à problemática. Os efeitos da produção de carne, das ações dos seres humanos e do valor atribuído aos animais, muitas vezes em prol do suposto benefício e bem-estar humano, são tratados na sequência didática proposta. O intuito principal deste trabalho é evidenciar, por meio de um recorte dessa sequência, o potencial da dimensão atitudinal nas questões sociocientíficas de promover a reflexão sobre valores éticos e morais, o pensamento crítico e a formação integral dos estudantes, com ênfase sobre um caso particular. Com base em uma discussão desse recorte, sustentada pela literatura do campo, argumentamos que propostas desse tipo podem contribuir para o trabalho pedagógico de professores ao lidarem com a dimensão atitudinal em sala de aula, para uma tomada de decisão mais consciente e socialmente responsável e, portanto, para o letramento científico dos estudantes.
