Résumé
Dans cet article, les auteurs évaluent les contributions de deux théoriciens poststructuralistes des relations internationales, Michael Dillon et Julian Reid, à la critique de la gouvernance globale libérale en situant ces contributions dans le contexte du moment libéral de la fin du siècle dernier. En s’interrogeant sur la problématique des théories du biopouvoir, de la guerre et de la stratégie, les auteurs exposent les zones de tension du projet de Dillon et Reid en mettant l’accent sur son imprécision quant à la critique des catégories libérales, sur certaines ambiguïtés liées à l’épistémologie dite complexe et, finalement, sur la tendance au fonctionnalisme du modèle qu’ils proposent. En conclusion, les auteurs présentent l’ébauche d’une conceptualisation alternative visant à surmonter ces limites théoriques.
