This study aimed to evaluate the growth of two species and one eucalyptus hybrid irrigated with different wastewaters. The experiment was carried out in a greenhouse in a completely randomized split-plot experimental design with three replications. The effluent included: Urban source, beef cattle slaughterhouse, poultry/swine slaughterhouse and soy processing/dairy plant from the wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs). In the subplot, the wastewater was diluted to the concentrations of 0, 25, 50, 75 and 100%. In the subplot, two species (Eucalyptus citriodora and Eucalyptus urophylla) and a eucalyptus hybrid (Eucalyptus urophylla x Eucalyptus grandis) were tested. The following physiological attributes were evaluated: mortality, root area, leaf area, stem diameter, plant height, green matter mass and dry matter weight. The results showed that the water from the beef cattle slaughterhouse WWTP, at 50% concentration, impaired growth of genotypes and promoted higher mortality values. As the concentrations of the four wastewater types increased, there was a significant variation for all characteristics except for: leaf area, plant height and dry matter weight with the soy processing/dairy WWTP water. The tested waters might be used in seedling irrigation of the two Eucalyptus plant species and the hybrid.
Poultry waste recycling is now a globally practice consolidated in agriculture. However, the proper disposal of poultry waste should enable to reduce N losses and to decrease pollution potential from the high concentrations of poultry litter applied to soil. In this context, the aim of the present study was to evaluate poultry litter doses and the effect of an urease inhibitor on the chemical attributes of a dystrophic Red Latosol. Two experiments were carried out, one in a greenhouse and another in a eucalyptus forest area, both applying completely randomized design with a 2 × 6 + 1 factorial arrangement, applying two types and six doses of poultry litter (5, 10, 20, 40, 80 and 160 t ha-1) plus the controls, with four replicates, total of 52 pots. The application of poultry litter doses altered soil chemical attributes, except for potential acidity. Soil pH, cation exchange capacity (CEC), sum of bases (SB) and electric conductivity (EC) values and Ca, Mg, K, P, S, organic matter (OM), Mn, Zn and Cu levels increased with increasing poultry litter doses, while Fe and B contents decreased. The 40, 80 and 160 t ha-1 poultry litter doses led to contamination potential of the soil due to salinity and alkalinity, and also raised the EC of the percolate at levels limiting to plants. The NBPT (N-butyl thiophosphoric triamide) urease inhibitor exhibited no influence on soil chemical attributes.
<p class="Resumo">A geração de dejetos suínos aumenta gradativamente, resultando em preocupação com o destino final desse produto. Este trabalho teve como objetivo a análise do comportamento inicial do super clone de eucalipto (AEC 1528), adubado com lodo suíno em comparação à adubação química. O experimento foi realizado em delineamento inteiramente casualizado, com 5 tratamentos e 3 repetições, sendo estes com volumes: 0; 1,25; 2,5; 5 L de biossólido e adubação química. A irrigação foi com água proveniente de poço da Universidade de Rio Verde, aumentando a quantidade de acordo com o crescimento da planta. Aos 120 dias, avaliou-se a altura da planta, diâmetro do caule, relação diâmetro do caule/altura da planta, peso da matéria verde, peso da matéria seca, peso da raiz, área foliar e mortalidade. O lodo de efluentes suínos acarretou aumento significativo em relação à altura da planta, peso da matéria verde e peso da matéria seca. Para as demais características, o uso do lodo foi semelhante à adubação química para o híbrido de eucalipto nos diferentes volumes utilizados. Observou-se, que a aplicação de lodo da suínocultura é uma alternativa eficaz para o uso como adubo em plantios de eucalipto.</p>
