Mediante los sistemas satelitales ubicados en órbita alrededor del planeta es posible realizar el seguimiento de gran cantidad de sucesos ocurridos en las diferentes latitudes del globo terráqueo. Al utilizar técnicas especializadas de procesamiento de imágenes es posible conocer con gran detalle características propias del fenómeno en análisis, realizar clasificación basada en dichas características e inferir comportamientos. El presente artículo pretende aportar una serie de recomendaciones y herramientas computacionales con las cuales sea posible realizar la clasificación del suelo de manera automática mediante el análisis de imágenes satelitales con dos técnicas siendo estas la transformada ondeleta (Wavelet) y el análisis de componentes principales.
La adquisición de imágenes se ve afectada por diversas variables y circunstancias, es necesario a fin de obtener información útil en muchas ocasiones la incorporación de medidas para reducir las afectaciones de mayor impacto. Para el caso del presente trabajo de investigación se pretende obtener la silueta de la persona de manera automática de antemano se debe enfrentar la problemática derivada de las condiciones de iluminación. A continuación se desarrolla una comparación experimental de técnicas orientadas a reducir el impacto de la imposibilidad de controlar las condiciones de iluminación durante la adquisición de imágenes a fin de facilitar el análisis posterior de la información contenida en ellas.
