La vie sociale, amoureuse et sexuelle des personnes ayant une infirmité motrice cérébrale (IMC)
est souvent plus pauvre que celle des personnes n’ayant pas d’incapacités : plus faible intégration
sociale, moins d’opportunités de rencontres amoureuses et davantage de difficultés à trouver un partenaire
sexuel. Cet article met en évidence les difficultés observées chez les enfants, adolescents et
adultes IMC dans leur vie affective, relationnelle et sexuelle. Il propose également d’investiguer les
facteurs qui pourraient rendre compte de ces difficultés. Ces facteurs relèvent des caractéristiques
propres à la personne et à sa pathologie, mais également de l’environnement social, familial et physique.
