An amphibian survey was conducted at the northern tip of the Ungava Peninsula (Nunavik, Québec) in June 2008 as part of an environmental and social impact assessment. Despite favourable survey conditions, no amphibians were seen, heard or caught. These results, coupled with information from other sources, suggest that amphibians do not occur this far north in the province. Hypotheses are proposed to explain this apparent absence
