A porosidade do concreto está intimamente relacionada com a durabilidade e desempenho das edificações, o estudo mais aprofundado dos fatores relacionados a quantidade de vazios presente no concreto endurecido se faz necessário para uma melhor compreensão e análise da qualidade e durabilidade das edificações. O presente trabalho descreve uma análise e classificação da forma do agregado graúdo britado para uso em concreto e sua relação com a porosidade do concreto. As referências quanto à determinação da forma do agregado graúdo é baseada em normas regulamentadoras e outros, com intuito de definirem parâmetros de comparações. O estudo para à classificação da forma do agregado graúdo é relativamente novo (Powers, 1953) foi o primeiro a propor um método de classificação para a forma do agregado. Atualmente existem alguns métodos, alguns propostos por alguns pesquisadores e outros exigidos por normas como NBR 7809 (ABNT, 2005) e outras. No desenvolvimento da metodologia da pesquisa, foram descritas a caracterização da forma, parâmetros estabelecidos por normas nacionais, internacionais, além de outras referências que estabeleceram diretrizes para classificação da forma do agregado graúdo britado. Com base nessas referências, estabeleceram-se critérios e parâmetros para determinar a forma do agregado graúdo britado em 4 (quatro) categorias: forma cúbica, forma alongada, forma lamelar e forma alongada-lamelar. Foi utilizado o método EPUSP-IPT, como método de dosagem para a produção dos concretos com forma cúbica, alongada, lamelar e alongada-lamelar, e, posterior análise dos resultados. Foram realizados os ensaios à compressão simples e tração por compressão diametral para os concretos produzidos aos 7, 14 e 28 dias. Analisando o comportamento da forma dos agregados, percebe-se a influência que as mesmas exercem no concreto fresco e endurecido. Para a resistência a compressão as formas cubicas e alongadas (formas com menores índices de irregularidades), apresentarão maiores resistências e consequentemente menores índices de vazios
