ArtigosResumo: Objetivo: Conhecer o perfil socioeconômico, demográfico e o consumo alimentar das pessoas com deficiência física adquirida as quais são assistidas por unidades de saúde e clínicas de reabilitação da cidade de Itajaí (SC). Métodos: Para a coleta dos dados foi utilizado um questionário com variáveis socioeconômicas, tipos de deficiência, hábito alimentar e estilo de vida. Os dados foram analisados utilizando estatística descritiva e inferencial. Resultados: Foi encontrada prevalência do sexo masculino (54,68%) e de paraplegia (29,68%). O consumo de legumes e verduras foi superior (63,9%) quando comparado ao feijão (55,7%), arroz (36,1%), pão integral (31,1%) e arroz integral (24,6%). A presença de alimentos não saudáveis foi encontrada nos lácteos integrais (44,3%) e nos carboidratos refinados, exceto: arroz, arroz integral, pão e pão integral (29,5%). Conclusão: A deficiência física tem grande impacto na vida dos entrevistados, alterando a renda familiar e os hábitos familiares, modificando a estrutura da família. Com relação ao consumo alimentar foi relatada na dieta a prevalência de alimentos saudáveis, porém houve um consumo relevante de alimentos gordurosos, sendo um fator preocupante, visto que a população em questão tende a ser sedentária. Abstract: Objective:To investigate the socioeconomic, demographic and dietary profile of people with acquired physical disability who are assisted by health facilities and rehabilitation clinics in Itajaí (SC). Methods: For the data collection, a questionnaire was used, which included socioeconomic variables, types of disability, dietary habits and lifestyle. The data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Results: We found a prevalence of males (54.68%), and paraplegia (28.68%). The consumption of vegetables was higher (63.9%) than that of beans (55.7%), rice (36.1%), wholegrain bread (31.1%) and wholegrain rice (24.6%).
