A acne vulgar é uma dermatose crônica e multifatorial, que ocorre com maior frequência na adolescência. Esta revisão literária foi proposta a fim de abordar tratamentos cosméticos e estéticos para acne vulgar. Para isso, foi realizado um levantamento bibliográfico que incluiu artigos originais e revisões. Os descritores utilizados na busca nas bases de dados MEDLINE (via Pubmed), BVS (Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde) e SCIELO (Scientific Electronic Library Online) foram "acne vulgar", "tratamento cosmético" e "tratamento estético". A pesquisa foi limitada aos idiomas português, inglês e espanhol, abrangendo o período de 2012 a 2022 e considerando apenas os artigos com texto completo e acesso gratuito. Observou-se diversas opções terapêuticas disponíveis, os quais estão relacionados ao mecanismo da doença e ao grau de gravidade. Dentre elas estão os antibióticos tópicos e orais, os contraceptivos orais combinados e antiandrógenos, o peróxido de benzoila e a fototerapia. Vale ressaltar que novas abordagens surgiram como a terapia IPL (Intense Pulsed Light Therapy). Nesse contexto, o tratamento envolve uma abordagem multidisciplinar que considera diferentes opções terapêuticas, levando em conta a gravidade da doença e as características individuais do paciente. A busca por tratamentos eficazes que minimizem as lesões inflamatórias, previna cicatrizes e hiperpigmentação, além de melhorar a autoestima dos pacientes, é fundamental para o manejo adequado dessa condição dermatológica comum.
A alopecia androgenética é a causa mais comum de perda progressiva de cabelo. Geralmente ocorre em pacientes com predisposição hereditária para esse tipo de alopecia e com androgênios circulantes. O padrão feminino da alopecia androgenética é caracterizado pelo afinamento difuso dos cabelos, poupando a linha de implantação frontal, e costuma iniciar-se entre a terceira e a quarta décadas de vida da paciente, com progressiva piora após a menopausa. Na fase inicial pode haver queda de cabelos seguida de redução da densidade capilar central do couro cabeludo. Nessas pacientes, além da avaliação da alopecia, é importante observar sinais de hiperandrogenismo. Vale ressaltar ainda que pacientes portadoras dessa patologia, possuem o seu psciológico e suas relações interpessoais afetadas, fatores esses que acabam afetando negatividamente a sua qualidade de vida.

Este guia tem por objetivo modesto auxiliar no preenchimento desta lacuna de informação. Assim sendo, abrange de forma clara e concisa, especialmente: informações sobre o que é hanseníase, seus sinais e sintomas iniciais, como se transmite a doença, como previne suas complicações, como é realizado o diagnóstico e, consequentemente, como se trata a hanseníase. Traz, ainda, informações de como a medicação deverá ser administrada, bem como os eventuais efeitos adversos mais comuns de cada medicamento. Explica ainda, de maneira resumida, como proceder com os contatos dos pacientes com hanseníase.
