Toutefois, dans la partie principale intitulée « Tobie au fil du récit » (13-137), les auteurs, dans leur lecture commune, signalent à l'occasion les écarts entre le texte court et le texte long, notamment lorsque ceux-ci permettent de mettre en évidence l'art narratif propre au texte court. En outre, du point de vue méthodologique, les auteurs font parfois appel à d'autres méthodes, comme l'histoire (16 ; 23-24 ; 32 ; 59), la psychologie et la psychanalyse (26 ; 33) ainsi que l'analyse intertextuelle (30 ; 55 ; 69-72 ; 94 ; 97 ; 103 ; 128), rhétorique (42 ; 44)à mon avis, l'appellation « critique structurelle » serait plus appropriéeet comparative (49).Quatre brèves études complètent cette lecture commune du livre de Tobie. La première, signée par Elena Di Pede, vise à identifier le narrateur du livre de Tobie (141-155). La deuxième étude, produite par Catherine Vialle, vise à cerner l'identité de Raphaël, alias Azarias, un personnage essentiel à l'intrigue du récit de Tobie (156-167). André Wénin, qui est l'auteur de la troisième étude, propose une analyse intertextuelle entre le mariage de Tobias et ceux d'Isaac et de Jacob en Gn 24 ; 28-31 (168-181). Dans cette étude intéressante, l'analyse intertextuelle est étrangement assimilée à une analyse des « sources probables d'inspiration » (168). Enfin, la quatrième étude reprend pour l'essentiel un chapitre intitulé « Le récit de la bénédiction dans le livre de Tobie », paru dans Claude Lichtert, L'intrigante bénédiction. Lectures narratives (Paris : Cerf, 2013 ; voir ma recension dans Studies in Religion / Sciences Religieuses 43, 2014, p. 200-201).Ces quatre études sont suivies d'une traduction littérale et annotée du texte court de Tobie (199)(200)(201)(202)(203)(204)(205)(206)(207)(208)(209)(210)(211)(212)(213)(214)(215). L'ouvrage se termine par une bibliographie sélective, rassemblée et brièvement commentée par Didier Luciani (217-245), et par un index des citations bibliques (247-252). En somme, cet ouvrage bien documenté et de lecture agréable a le mérite de faire progresser la recherche, tout en restant accessible à un large public.
