A produção de carne de frango no Brasil tem crescido de forma significativa nos últimos anos, influenciada pelas exportações e pelo consumo interno. A produção brasileira está concentrada nas Regiões Sul, Sudeste e Centro-Oeste. Apesar deste forte crescimento nacional, alguns Estados têm apresentado comportamentos distintos ao longo dos últimos anos. O Estado de Goiás apresentou uma taxa de crescimento positiva entre o ano 2000 e 2015. O Estado de São Paulo, por outro lado, mostrou grande evolução entre os anos 2000 e 2008, porém registrou quedas sucessivas após este período. O crescimento da produção no Estado de Goiás pode estar influenciado pela implantação mais recente de novas agroindústrias processadoras de carnes na região, além do fator custo dos principais insumos como milho e soja. No Estado de São Paulo, por sua vez, a queda na produção pode estar associada a diversos fatores, como a estrutura agroindustrial de pequenas e médias empresas que produzem predominantemente para o mercado interno, a diferença de custos do milho e soja em relação a outros Estados, a forte elevação do custo da soja ocorrida nos últimos anos, entre outros.
