A inteligência financeira refere – se em organizar as finanças de forma equilibrada e sensata, a fim de que não ocorra prejuízos econômicos. Nesse sentido o presente estudo tem como objetivo identificar a relação entre o nível de educação financeira e o nível de endividamento dos colaboradores de uma multinacional do segmento alimentício localizada no médio norte do Mato Grosso – MT, além de avaliar o comportamento e a forma como estes administram ou empregam seus recursos, apresentando mecanismos para a apresentação de um programa de educação financeira. A pesquisa se caracteriza como de natureza aplicada, a forma qualitativa, quanto aos objetivos descritiva e explicativa, e se distingue quanto aos procedimentos técnicos como estudo de caso. Sendo realizado através de um questionário estruturado a 100 colaboradores da empresa multinacional, onde as análises estatísticas e os resultados para alcançar os objetivos do estudo indicaram que o nível de educação financeira ainda é insuficiente e insatisfatório, sendo as principais deficiências decorrentes a falta de conhecimento e consciência crítica sobre o planejamento econômico, informações suficientes sobre tipos de investimentos, orientações sobre controle de compras e uso de produtos bancários principalmente o cartão de crédito e cheque especial. Sendo assim as organizações devem se preocupar um pouco mais sobre esse tempo, visto que é de grande relevância especialmente para a economia do país, procurando – se aprofundar, desenvolvendo políticas de prevenção e conscientização sobre o endividamento e propor melhorias para que este não impacte negativamente no desempenho organizacional.
