Cette étude avait pour objectif d'évaluer la réaction vis-à-vis de la fusariose de plantules de palmier à huile prémunies auparavant d'une souche non pathogène de Fusarium oxysporum. L'évaluation a porté sur des plantules issues d'un croisement tolérant et d'un croisement non tolérant à la fusariose. Les résultats ont montré, qu'après quatre mois d'inoculation de l'agent pathogène, 0% et 2,5% de plants malades ont été observés respectivement chez les plantules issues du croisement tolérant et du croisement non tolérant à la fusariose. Par contre, lorsque les plantules n'ont pas été pré-inoculées avant avec la souche non pathogène de Fusarium oxysporum, le pourcentage cumulé de fusariose, après quatre mois d'incubation de l'agent pathogène, a varié entre 7,5% et 12,5% pour le croisement tolérant et de 14,5% à 47,5% pour le croisement non tolérant à la fusariose. Il ressort donc de l'étude que l'inoculation, à un croisement sensible d'une souche non agressive de Fusarium oxysporum pouvait lui conférer le pouvoir fongitoxique et améliorer la fongitoxicité chez un croisement tolérant.
