After nearly three decades of development, sustainable tourism has been widely recognized in tourism policy practice and tourism research. In recent years, scholars have paid more and more attention to the topic of sustainable tourism policy research. The purpose of this paper is to analyze its development process and extract its research subject framework for reference in future research. This paper uses the systematic review method and the literature co-citation network analysis to classify the theme of sustainable tourism policy research into six categories, including: Sustainable tourism policy stakeholders, sustainable tourism policy implementation, sustainable tourism and climate policy, sustainable tourism indicators and planning, sustainable concepts in tourism policy, and the role of sustainable tourism policy. The development and implementation of sustainable tourism policies are an effective response to global environmental and sustainable development challenges. However, the current sustainable tourism policy is often economic-growth oriented, which has theoretical differences with sustainable development. At the same time, the research focus of scholars is on the impact of policies on the sustainable development of tourism, while the research on the formation process of policies and governance behaviors in the sustainable development of tourism is not enough.
Objective
The aim of this review is to identify and summarize factors that are associated with public attitudes towards people with various disabilities systematically.
Methods
An electronic search of three databases was performed (Medline, EMBASE and Cochrane) covering the period from 1950 to present. A comprehensive search strategy was developed and the lists of citations were screened for potential eligible studies. Only quantitative studies using valid measurements were included, and the methodological quality of included studies was appraised based on three criteria (sample, measurement, analysis) by two independent reviewers.
Results
The initial electronic search yielded 995 articles after duplicates removed, and 27 studies met the eligibility criteria were included in the study. Three categories of the factors were found to be associated with the public attitudes, which are related to the attitude provider, disabled people, and society respectively. Specifically, the more people know about disabilities, the more likely they were to have positive attitude; and the frequency and quality of the contact with the disabled are also proved to be influential to the attitudes. Meanwhile, the type of disability is also closely correlated to the public’s attitude towards the disabilities.
Conclusion
People’s knowledge of the disability and their contact with individuals with disabilities are the main influential factors in public attitudes towards persons with disabilities.
As increasing numbers of tourists have begun to visit ancient villages, conflicts between tourism development and residents have become one of the main challenges to the sustainable development of the tourism community. This research explores the relationship between community participation and residents’ support for tourism development in an ancient village. This study surveyed 249 indigenous residents living in Whampoa Village, Guangzhou, China. The findings show that community participation in tourism development has a positive influence on residents’ support for tourism development, and this relationship is mediated by the perceptions of conflicts in the tourism community. This study contributes a new theoretical perspective and practical implications for the sustainable development of ancient villages.
Electromagnetic forming is a method of high-speed metal workpiece forming technology that uses electromagnetic force pulses generated from the interaction of the magnetic flux density and workpiece induced eddy current. The main challenge of this technology is the control of the eddy current and magnetic flux density to perform various forming processes. This paper is aimed at overcoming this challenge by introducing a new electromagnetic sheet forming method based on discretely driven rings. In this method, a set of discrete conducting rings are placed between the driving coil and the metal workpiece to enhance the shaping process of the workpiece. By changing the number and position of the rings, the induced eddy current can be adjusted, and different electromagnetic force distribution profiles can be realized. COMSOL software is used to develop an electromagnetic field-structure coupling model of the proposed electromagnetic forming method. The characteristics of the electromagnetic force distribution and its effect on the workpiece forming process are analyzed. Results show that the electromagnetic force distribution profile can be controlled by adjusting the rings physical parameters such as diameter, material, and position. The proposed method can effectively improve the performance of the conventional electromagnetic forming technology and has the potential for implementation in wide industry applications.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
