Dynamic capabilities are crucial to the survival and development of enterprises in the BOP (Base/Bottom of the Pyramid, hereinafter BOP) market. The research focuses on the double-edged sword impact of relational embeddedness on dynamic capabilities via ambidextrous learning, that is moderate embeddedness facilitates dynamic capabilities while overembeddedness inhibits them. Furthermore, this study investigates whether human capital moderates the relationships between relational embeddedness and ambidextrous learning. Selecting 264 samples for empirical research, firstly, the results show that the relational embeddedness in the BOP cooperation network has an inverted U-shaped influence on ambidextrous learning and dynamic capabilities. Secondly, exploratory learning and exploitative learning play a mediating role in relational embeddedness and dynamic capabilities. Thirdly, prior experience plays a positive moderating role in relational embeddedness and exploitative learning. The conclusions facilitate understanding the antecedents of dynamic capabilities and the black box of “embeddedness paradox,” and provide empirical evidence for adjusting the human capital of enterprises, enhancing the exploratory learning capability and exploitative learning capability, and coping with the overembeddedness effects.
How firms drive innovation in digital transformation remains largely unanswered and this article is an attempt in that direction to deconstruct the digital innovation of small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises (SMMEs) realizability condition and evolve the body of knowledge. We developed a TOE framework based on digital innovation theory to investigate the impact of the configuration effect of technology, organization and environment regarding the characteristic on a firm’s digital innovation. We performed fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA) on survey data collected from 141 SMMEs in China to examine configuration paths formed by different conditions. The results reveal that the success of a firm’s digital innovation practice is not driven by a single factor, but the result of multiple factors’ combined interaction, in which four sets of high digital innovation realization paths could be further summarized as “total factor driven”, “technology-environment oriented”, “organization-technology oriented”, and “organization oriented-environment”. These findings make sound theoretical and practical contributions to the usage of the TOE framework in the domain of developing a firm’s digital innovation. Bringing the SMMEs’ enlightenment is digital innovation, which is integral, systematic engineering, despite technology itself being the primary role of the whole process, more important is the organization’s agile strategy and digital positioning, as well as making full use of the advantages of the current environment for companies, thus better promoting the emergence and deepening digital innovation.
Employees’ creative idea enactment is critical for organizational creativity assessment and innovation implementation. In the paper, we want to develop and verify a moderated chain mediation model to explore the impact of supervisor developmental feedback on the enactment of employees’ creative ideas, and to investigate the moderating role of psychological empowerment further. Hierarchical regression analyses of the multi-time data from 375 employees in China indicate that positive emotions and work engagement, respectively mediate the relationship between supervisor developmental feedback and employees’ creative idea enactment. Simultaneously, positive emotions and work engagement form chain mediation between supervisor developmental feedback and creative idea enactment. Besides, we find that psychological empowerment negatively moderates the relationship between supervisor developmental feedback and employees’ positive emotions, as well as moderates the chain mediating effect of this paper. The present study not only contributes to the literature on feedback and innovation, but also provides practical guidance on how to seek remedies to facilitate employees’ creative idea enactment from the perspective of human resource management.
There are a few studies on the relation between the control contestability and performance, but the results are mixed. With the data of 1378 listed company in China during [2000][2001][2002][2003][2004][2005][2006][2007], the paper analysis the impacts of control contestability on performance using 5 ownership restricting indexes. It shows that the degree of ownership restricting is greater, the net profit is better, and Tobin's Q is lower. Moreover, the restricting of the second large shareholder against the largest shareholder has incentive and tunneling effect, and the impacts of the ownership restricting on net asset per share also has the two effects. These results may be helpful to recognize the influence of ownership restricting further, and they also supply conferences to the designing optimal ownership structure.
