Self-assembly reactions of copper (II) ions, dicarboxylate (adipate or terephthalate) and terminal ligands (4,4′-bipyridine or phenanthroline) yielded three hydroxy-bridged Cu(II) cluster complexes: [Cu(phen 8 H 4 O 4 ) 2 • 6H 2 O (2) and [Cu 6 (bpy) 6 (OH) 6 (H 2 O) 2 ] • (C 6 H 8 O 4 ) 3 • 23H 2 O (3) (phen ) phenanthroline, bpy ) 2,2′-bipyridine, C 8 H 6 O 4 ) terephthalic acid, C 6 H 10 O 4 ) adipic acid). Single crystal X-ray diffraction analyses reveal that complex 1 is a discrete dinuclear Cu 2 O 2 motif, 2 presents a discrete chairlike tetranuclear copper(II) Cu 4 O 4 core formed by two Cu 2 O 2 units, and 3 assumes a discrete hexameric copper(II) Cu 6 O 6 cluster consisting of three Cu 2 O 2 units. The polynuclear structures are generated from the Cu(II) ions linked by the µ 2 -and/or µ 3 -OH groups. In 1-3, all Cu(II) ions show square pyramidal coordination geometry, and the dicarboxylate ions act as counteranions to keep the whole structure neutral. Thermogravimetric analyses (TGA) and magnetic properties of 1-3 were studied, respectively.
These data suggest that the protective effects of fenofibrate against cholestasis-induced hepatic injury are dependent on PPARα and fenofibrate dose, and are mediated through inhibition of JNK signalling. This mechanism of fenofibrate protection against intrahepatic cholestasis may offer additional therapeutic opportunities for cholestatic liver diseases.
Reactions of a freshly prepared Zn(OH) 2-2x (CO 3 ) x · yH 2 O precipitate, phenanthroline with azelaic and sebacic acid in CH 3 OH/H 2 O afforded [Zn(phen)(C 9 H 15 O 4 ) 2 ] (1) and [Zn 2 (phen) 2 -(H 2 O) 2 (C 10 H 16 O 4 ) 2 ] · 3H 2 O (2), respectively. They were structurally characterized by X-ray diffraction methods. Compound 1 consists of complex molecules [Zn(phen)(C 9 H 15 O 4 ) 2 ] in which the Zn atoms are tetrahedrally coordinated by two N atoms of one phen ligand and two O atoms of different monodentate hydrogen azelaato groups. Intermolecular C(alkyl)-H···π interactions and the intermolecular C(aryl)-H···O and O-H···O hydrogen bonds are responsible for the supramolecular assembly of the [Zn(phen)(C 9 H 15 O 4 ) 2 ] complexes. Compound 2 is built up from crystal H 2 O molecules and the centrosymmetric binuclear [Zn 2 (phen) 2 (H 2 O) 2 (C 10 H 16 O 4 ) 2 ]
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
