RESUMOObjetivo -Este estudo teve por objetivo avaliar a influência da nutrição na qualidade de vida de pacientes com câncer em cuidados paliativos. Métodos -Esta pesquisa constituiu-se de revisão descritiva da literatura. Após consultar as bases de dados PubMed e BVS foram selecionados 7 artigos para compor esta revisão. Resultados -Dentre os principais achados, destaca-se que, a sarcopenia está relacionada a sintomas depressivos e piora nos parâmetros de qualidade de vida e do estado nutricional de pacientes oncológicos em cuidados paliativos. Além disso, indivíduos que receberam acompanhamento nutricional parecem ter um aumento da ingestão de proteínas e energia, benefícios os quais contribuem potencialmente para a função emocional, motivação e bem-estar, redução do cansaço, fadiga, depressão e dor, melhora do sofrimento e prazer relacionado a alimentação. Conclusão -A intervenção nutricional melhora a qualidade de vida de pacientes com câncer avançado em cuidados paliativos.Palavras-chave: terapia nutricional, cuidados paliativos, pacientes incuráveis, qualidade de vida.
