(Back) The Sand Dunes Wilderness Study Area, located southeast of Farson, Wyoming, is one of the many locations evaluated by the U.S. Geological Survey's pygmy rabbit research team. The team has been conducting on-the-ground pygmy rabbit occupancy surveys to assess and improve the accuracy of an existing pygmy rabbit habitat model, and lidar imagery is being evaluated for its usefulness as a tool for identifying and mapping potential pygmy rabbit habitat across the species' range.
