A pandemia da COVID-19 afetou significativamente a saúde e o bem-estar das pessoas em todo o mundo. Neste período, os parques urbanos e as áreas verdes foram reconhecidas como vitais para a saúde física e mental da população. No entanto, no Brasil, os estudos no contexto da pandemia são escassos. Nesse sentido, o objetivo desta pesquisa foi compreender a importância das áreas verdes urbanas na promoção de serviços ecossistêmicos culturais e seus benefícios à saúde física e psicológica dos seus usuários durante o contexto da pandemia da COVID-19 em um parque urbano localizado na região nordeste do Brasil, tendo sido aplicadas 50 entrevistas com os visitantes do parque. Os resultados demonstraram que a maioria dos usuários possuem ensino médio completo e mais da metade (58%) dos visitantes possuem idade entre 16 a 35 anos. Foi verificado também que os benefícios para o bem-estar fornecidos pelo parque são percebidos pela população e que a flexibilização das medidas restritivas levou a um aumento do interesse de frequentar o parque.
O uso da bacia hidrográfica enquanto unidade de análise aliada ao estudo ecodinâmico permite identificar as vulnerabilidades e interações dos componentes ambientais de forma sistêmica. A teoria da ecodinâmica baseia-se na dinâmica dos ecótopos e procura estabelecer uma relação entre as atividades socioeconômicas e os processos morfogenéticos e pedogenéticos atuantes definindo os meios estáveis, intermediários e instáveis. A sub-bacia hidrográfica dos rios Velho e Açu inserida parcialmente na Área de Proteção Ambiental da Barra do Rio Mamanguape (APA-BRM), litoral norte do estado da Paraíba sofre com constantes alterações nos ambientes naturais decorrentes do uso e ocupação desordenada da terra. Assim, o objetivo da pesquisa é determinar a vulnerabilidade ambiental da sub-bacia dos rios Velho e Açu. A pesquisa foi dividida em três etapas: diagnóstico ambiental de todos os componentes (geologia, geomorfologia, pedologia, pluviosidade e uso e cobertura da terra); diagnóstico econdinâmico para determinar a vulnerabilidade de cada componente, avaliando a estabilidade do ambiente de acordo com a relação pedogênese/morfogênese; e, a análise integrada para identificar o grau de estabilidade e instabilidade da sub-bacia. Os resultados indicam que o plantio da cana-de-açúcar ocupa 60% da sub-bacia. A vulnerabilidade ambiental indica que 80% da sub-bacia é caracterizando como de Média Estabilidade e, 12% com moderada instabilidade. Conclui-se que na sub-bacia existe a interferência concorrente dos processos morfogenéticos e pedogenéticos e que a continuidade do uso inadequado da terra, sem nenhum manejo, pode desequilibrar essa relação.
