Author's summary
It is challenging to select the candidate for cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) in pediatric and congenital heart disease (CHD) patients because of their complex cardiac anatomy and various etiology of heart failure. Among 16 patients in this study, 75% showed improvement in ventricular function and functional status after CRT implantation, which was more pronounced in the group with congenital atrioventricular block with right ventricular pacing or dilated cardiomyopathy with left bundle branch block. This study suggests that CRT would be helpful for highly selected pediatric and CHD patients.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
