Se ha reflexionado acerca de los contenidos del pensamiento filosófico latinoamericano presentes en los textos escolares ecuatorianos de filosofía, desde perspectivas descolonizadoras mediante una ecología de saberes y la traducción intercultural encaminados a un diálogo de saberes y confrontación de saberes. Tuvo una metodología cualitativa con un enfoque analítico - interpretativo de carácter hermenéutico. Los resultados muestran que los planteamientos de la filosofía latinoamericana se fundamentan en un nosotros plural y diverso; y no en un ser individual (yo); que la teoría de la dependencia no es una corriente filosófica, sino netamente económica. Además, que la emancipación y la liberación proponen superar las situaciones de marginalidad y opresión. También se excluyen categorías relacionadas a la colonialidad que dificultan su comprensión. Dentro de los textos la identidad y la cultura no se definen de manera clara, ya que se ven como entes invariables en el tiempo. El estudio señaló que el abordaje del pensamiento filosófico latinoamericano es mínimo y genera interpretaciones que conllevan a considerar que el conocimiento occidental es malo; y además, reveló la necesidad que existan contenidos del pensamiento filosófico latinoamericano para tener una mirada de nuestro contexto, para conocer la realidad en los que nos encontramos insertos, y que existe una pluralidad de pensamientos, voces y visiones.
