Los trabajadores de la salud son considerados de alto riesgo para el contagio de enfermedades como la Tuberculosis (TB), siendo la exposición a pacientes infectados uno de los peligros a los que se enfrentan. Este estudio tiene como objetivo caracterizar a los trabajadores de la salud que han padecido de tuberculosis en Bogotá en el período comprendido entre el año 2009-2011. Estudio cuantitativo, exploratorio, retrospectivo se analizaron los datos extraídos de la base de datos del Sistema de Vigilancia en Salud Pública, período 2009 a 2011. Los resultados mostraron que el total de casos de tuberculosis en trabajadores de la salud en Bogotá en el período 2009-2011 fue de 54 casos, evidenciando mayor número de estos en TB extrapulmonar (53.7%). Se presentaron mayor número de casos en médicos y auxiliares de enfermería. El diagnóstico se dio principalmente, por medio de laboratorio. El grupo de edad en que se concentró el mayor número de casos fue el rango de 25-29 años. Se evidencia la necesidad de realizar estudios que permitan analizar de forma profunda las condiciones de trabajo de los trabajadores de la salud y su exposición a enfermedades infectocontagiosas como la tuberculosis.
