Introduction: Kanban Methodology is a process implemented in health services whose purpose is to maintain quality care, monitoring the process of hospitalization of medical clinic. Objective: To evaluate the Kanban methodology instituted in a SUS care hospital, related to length of stay, use of institution resources, multidisciplinary care and resolution. Method: Retrospective, observational study, approved by the Ethics Committee (No. 3,222,731), with analysis of medical records of patients of both sexes, over 18 years old, admitted to the Medical Clinic specialty of a Bauru Public Hospital. Data were collected regarding length of stay (days), use of institution resources (complementary exams), multidisciplinary care and resolution in two moments (M): M1 = before and M2 = after Kanban implementation. Descriptive statistics was performed, with absolute and relative frequency distributions. Results: A total of 2118 patient records were analyzed and included in study 684 of the medical clinic. The predominant main ICD was that of neoplasms, followed by circulatory diseases. There was a reduction in the time of completion and the reports of complementary exams and improved care of the multidisciplinary team. Conclusion: The implementation of the Kanban System in a Public Hospital can generate benefits to users, as well as to the "State", with rational use of resources, such as control over the need for complementary exams and their agility. During hospitalization, the individual's treatment and referral forms were considered, with a multidisciplinary approach. The resolution was proved by better attention to the individual, who at the moment of discharge was evaluated and referred for outpatient treatment or counter-referral to the municipality.
