This study deals with the characterisation of the electrical contacts used in GIS applications (permanent current flow), both by numerical calculation and experimental testing. The good behavior of an electrical contact is related not only to the choice of the materials but also to its geometry. The optimization of these factors will ensure a good performance of the product. This study shows the influence of materials and geometrical parameters on mechanical force and electrical resistance of the contacts. So, the study will allow the optimization of the contact in order to ensure high performance and a stable contact resistance in time.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
