la masculinidad militar es uno de los modelos de virilidad instalados en el imaginario paraguayo por ser eje del discurso heroico, y base de la identidad nacionalista. En este artículo, se analiza la construcción de dicho fenómeno en el siglo XX a partir de las investigaciones existentes sobre autoritarismo y nacionalismo en Paraguay con el fin de visibilizar el proceso de establecimiento de esta masculinidad por medio de su expresión simbólica, su relevancia en la práctica política y su reproducción en el ámbito educativo. Sin ser la única, es una de las masculinidades hegemónicas del país por lo cual debe comprenderse como históricamente construida y propulsada desde el Estado autoritario.
